Welcome to the Total German Shepherd Dog Blog: created to celebrate the German Shepherd Dog in its truest form: strong, balanced, and full of purpose.

For more than two decades, my work with both Show and Working line German Shepherds, as an enthusiast, trainer and breeder has shown that they are not divided breeds, but branches of the same enduring tree.

This blog serves as a record of that journey- a place to document my life with my German Shepherd Dogs; my thoughts, share information, debunk myths, and explore how intelligent, thoughtful breeding can reunite the lines that define the Total German Shepherd Dog.

Here, you will find honest articles about breeding, structure, health and temperament. You will read about the value of outcrossing, the importance of healthy movement, and how the right choices in genetics create long-term soundness. You will also see stories about real dogs, real people, and the work that keeps this breed alive in heart and in function.

The German Shepherd was never meant to live only in the ring or only on the training field. It was created to serve, protect, and connect with people. To do that, we need to care for the whole dog: its health, its mind, and its courage.

The Total German Shepherd Dog Blog is where structure meets spirit. It’s where breeders, handlers, and families can learn from one another, share their experiences, and preserve what matters most: the versatility and integrity of this incredible breed.
